I reported to work slightly before 9am today. Because it was at peak hour, the crowd on the roads, MRT and lifts were mad. Considering that I am working at the top floor of the Great Eastern life building, the lift was practically stopping on every floor before I could reach office.

The receptionist told me to walk along the long aisle to the office to meet my boss. As I was walking, there was this old man who smiled at me and said "good morning". I did the same.

When I met my boss, he led me into the meeting room and told me to digest their history and annual report. As I was flipping through the book, I saw a picture of the same old man I met earlier. Apparently he is the CEO of the company. Thank God I was courteous, otherwise I am sure he would have marked me down. I did that for the next 45 mins (why would they demand that of an intern?). Anyway, the place was in deafening silence. I was struggling to stay awake. After 45 mins, I spent the next 45 mins attending a meeting with my boss and 2 other colleagues regarding department matters.

My bosses bought me lunch today, together with 3 other colleagues from the same department. Thank God for that favour with them.

Since it was my first day on the job, I had very little things to do. I was given 4 pieces of assignments in total. First three were mundane stuff that needed little brain activity. The forth was challenging. I had to categorise all the different types of training the staff went through for the year 2005. Mind you, there were 4288 staff in all! My eyes almost went cross at the end.

I was told the first day of the in house training will take place tomorrow. I am sure tomorrow will require of more brain activity from me, since I will be involved in coordinating this training.
