With the Great Singapore sales on, I have sure been coming back to the office with a great number of shopping bags so far. I go for lunchtime shopping everyday and day by day, I am returning with at least one shopping bag. Yesterday was a pair of Berms, today is a pretty dress.

Here's the thing, I know I am going to Bali exactly 1 month from now, but what I have forgotten is that I need money to travel! This means all the lunch time shopping money could have been saved for Bali!!!

Arrrggghhh!!! Silly me!

I decided to make an appearance specially for Eugene. Contrary to your belief, my job doesn't suck, really. In fact, I am enjoying myself.

Last Thursday and Friday, I was down at the Beauford, Sentosa for a seminar. I was given the opportunity to join all the Management Associates as a participant in this seminar. The seminar was trying to get people to "Present like a Pro", which obviously was about presentation skills. Apart from the seminar being great because of an excellent trainer as well as the chance to meet other delegates from the regional Great Eastern Life branches, the food there was fantastic as well! We were fed 5 meals a day in the hotel, buffet style, mind you!

Have been pretty busy doing work for my MD and Chairman over the past few days. Details shall be spared. Indeed it is a great honour to work for the 2 of them, considering my department viewed me highly to entrust me with such important tasks.

So how can my job suck, Eugene? Perhaps you may want to say that your job sucks a million times now, rather than just a 100 times. HAHA!

And today is yet another raining day.

You know just how it feels to struggle out of that warm bed and carry a brolly, trying to rush to the MRT station just to get to work on time despite the rain?

I have been in for an hour now and I am still doing nonsense like this online. I haven't found the motivation to get started despite having tonnes of work to do for once.

I refused to get out of bed this morning...

Apart from it, yes, being a Monday morning, it was also because the weather outside was in such a perfect sleeping condition. I snoozed my alarm twice. Thoughts of calling in sick definitely crossed my mind more than once.

It started pouring very heavily after my shower. When I was done with my make up, I still thought of returning to bed.

Since it was still pouring heavily and I can't leave the house, I decided to read the newspapers. As I was reading the first page of the Home section, I realised I was reading and reading the same lines. Initially I thought something was wrong with me. I then realised that I was doing that because that section was so badly written. It had so many running sentences without the appropriate full stops, too many sentences with unnecessary commas and sentences which were grammatically wrong. Not only that, some sentences even had more than one "which" within the same line. Having that on the front page of our national newspaper certainly irked me first thing in the morning. I am by no means saying that I am an expert at pin pointing the errors, but they were certainly glaring enough to be picked out!

When I left the house, it was already 835. I had to brace the weather and make it to work despite the downpour. That was not all... Only when I was about to reach the office did I realise that my bread is still on my table!

I reached office at 910, reported upstairs before going down to Hans to buy my breakfast.

*I am wearing a bright pink top and black skirt. When I woke up this morning, I wanted to change it to all black instead. I am glad I didn't. That would definitely have added onto my BLACK Monday. Colours DO maketh one's mood.

I just did something really really fun...

Under the order of my boss, I had to make 20 mystery calls to people from different departments to check if 1. they pick up the phone within 3 rings and 2. if they greeted me.

The conversation went this way "hi, I am your mystery caller from HCD. Congratulations/I am sorry, you have/have not won our prize. We will notify you via email/we will try again later because you did not pick up your phone within 3 rings/did not greet me."

We all had a good laugh after that..

Change isn't always something for the worst; the shell that forms around a piece of sand looks to some people like an irritation, and to others, like a pearl.
